Uloma Immigrants’ House is dedicated to serving the disadvantaged populations in our surrounding areas. Our goal is to provide the tools necessary for families to thrive in this new environment through facilitating transitional housing, engaging with the community, utilizing social support, and supplying necessary education. There are MANY community organizations in our area, and support and collaboration is essential. Adult literacy in marginalized communities is much lower than the state and national average. Although there are numerous programs running in our area, there is a need for one-on-one time and health literacy needs, which we hope to fill. We hope to partner with other organizations that operate under a similar mission in order to support the Flint communities as a whole.
